Spaghetti Experiment !

In today's maths  lesson Isy and I had to get the results from what we did in the past lessons which was testing how strong a piece of spaghetti is. We were finding out if the strength of spaghetti would change as you add more strands.

First we had to set up two even desks. The edges needed 20 cm apart. We used tape to tape one of the edges to the table.  Then we made a hook out of a paper clip. Then we turned a paper cup into a small bucket to hold the weight. We used string as the handle. Then we gently added the weights into the cup. After we spent some time doing this we had to collect the results.. The goal was to see who's cup could hold the most weight.

Here are the results from the experiment!

The results shows that as we added more weight we expanded how much  spaghetti  we added . it  would be harder to break the spaghetti .

We also had to get a Whakatauki that would link to this experiment that we just done.  Here is the Whakatauki  that I found. This relates to our experiment because we are stronger together. And if we work together with the jobs  they get  done quicker.
